1. Click Download for Mac above and open the downloaded .dmg file.
2. Drag The Beer Garden into the Applications folder, then eject the disk image.
3. Open it from Applications. The first time, macOS may say it can't check the app for malicious software, because it isn't from the App Store. Click Done, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to "The Beer Garden" (on older macOS: right-click the app → Open → Open). You only do this once.
4. Updates: download the new version here and drag it into Applications again. Your templates and settings are kept.

1. Open the app and go to Settings (bottom left). The server address should be https://thebeergarden.urbanmedia.io. Click Test connection to check.
2. Sign in with your staff username and password. The bottom-left status turns green with your name.
3. Admins add and manage accounts under Settings → Staff access.

1. In Members, click + Add member and enter their name (email and phone are optional).
2. Click the photo box on their page to add a headshot (JPG or PNG, face clearly visible). Security sees this photo when the card is scanned.
3. Member numbers are given automatically from 0001. Admins can choose a number when adding a member, for example 0000 for the owner.

1. On the member's page, click Issue card, check the Valid until date (12 months by default), and click Issue & open in Card Studio. Their name, number, dates and a unique QR code are filled into the VIP template.
2. Check both sides in Card Studio, then click Print → Print….
3. In the print dialog choose the Zebra ZC300, the CR80 / card paper size, Scale 100%, and two-sided printing.
4. If the back prints upside down, tick Turn the back upside down in the Card Studio print window next time.
5. Lost the printed card, or it jammed? Use Print again on the member's page. It reprints the same card and QR code.

• Renew issues a new card with a new QR code and expiry date. The old card stops working straight away, and shows as "Replaced" if scanned.
• Cancel card (for example if it's lost) makes it show as cancelled at the door.
• Suspend a member (in their details) to stop all their cards working without deleting their history.
• The Expire in 30 days filter in Members shows who is due for renewal.

The Beer Garden Door scanner is a web app, so there's no App Store download. Install it once per phone:

iPhone (Safari):

1. Open thebeergarden.urbanmedia.io/scan in Safari and sign in.
2. Tap the Share button (square with an arrow) → Add to Home Screen → Add.
3. Open BG Door from the home screen and sign in again. The home-screen app keeps its own sign-in, separate from Safari.
4. The first time you tap Scan a card, allow camera access.

Android (Chrome):

1. Open thebeergarden.urbanmedia.io/scan in Chrome and sign in.
2. Tap ⋮ → Install app (or Add to Home screen) → Install.
3. Open BG Door from the home screen and allow camera access when asked.

1. Open BG Door, tap Scan a card and point the camera at the QR code on the back of the card.
2. ADMIT (green): valid card. Compare the photo with the person, then let them in. The entry is logged automatically.
3. DO NOT ADMIT (red): expired, replaced, cancelled or suspended, or not a Beer Garden card. The reason is shown and the attempt is logged.
4. Scanning the same card again within 5 minutes shows "Already checked in" and isn't counted twice.
5. If the QR code won't scan, type the code printed under it, or ask the member for ID and check them in Members.

Today's admitted and denied counts and the entry list are at the top of the scanner. Each member's visits also appear on their page in the Mac app.

• The VIP card is a template in Card Studio (Templates). Edit it, then Save template under the same name to change every future card.
• Back up templates with Templates → Export. That gives you a .cardtemplate file you can import on another Mac.
• Members, cards, photos and entries live on the server and are backed up every night, with 30 days kept.
